Gacked from all over my friends list, the What Do You Know About Your Friends' Fandoms meme.

Alias

Jennifer Garner and some other people are spies. There's Jack, who is some kind of disturbed genius, and Irina, who is... somebody else. This fandom holds a special appeal for disillusioned X-Files writers.

Babylon 5

Big-ass space station, last hope for peace. The series was meticulously planned by a guy whose name is difficult to spell, and who hangs out on Usenet a lot.

Blake's 7

British, obscure... Something like "The Prisoner"? Don't know.

BtVS/Angel

Buffy is chosen to kill vampires, and Anthony Stewart Head likes to watch. Angel is the only vampire with a soul, but this fact occasionally slips his mind. There's a fair amount of dying and coming back to life, and lesbian sex fits in there somehow as well. Oh, and sometimes they all sing.

Due South

Mountie comes to America looking for the guy who killed his father. There are two guys named Ray, and he kisses one of them at some point. At any rate, he has notably slashy relationships with both of them, and great battles have been fought in the trenches of the fandom over which Ray is to be preferred.

Firefly

Sci-fi western of some kind. (Shades of "Wagon Train to the Stars"?) Like its namesake, it was bright, fascinating to watch, and very short-lived.

Gundam Wing

Anime about several guys who pilot large flying thingies. Their names all evoke numbers, which leads to slash fanfic headers that look like math equations: 3x4, 2x1, and the like. The member of the pairing that's named (or numbered) first is the top, because that's very important for some reason.

Highlander

Immortals who can only be killed by decapitation. There's a guy named Methos who gets slashed with everybody, and Nick Lea was involved at some point. There were movies and several series, each of which apparently exists in a separate universe from all the others.

Queer As Folk

Pre-slashed for your convenience. It was re-done for the US. There are lesbian characters, but they aren't very interesting.

Six Feet Under

Casey from Sports Night runs a funeral home with his family of neurotic misfits. One is gay. One is crazy. One is named Nate. Playing the dead body on this show is now the hottest gig in town -- even better than playing the dead body on Law & Order.

Stargate SG-1

Time travel is involved. There are characters named Sam and Janet. I think they fight crime. And there's a big black guy with some weird appliance makeup on his head.
