Unrelatedly, did you guys see Hugh Laurie on Inside the Actor's Studio, and that slasher got up and totally asked him whether he thought House and Wilson should get together, and how there were "sites on the internet" about it and it "would make the fans happy"? That was pretty embarrassing to watch. And she didn't even mention J&W, which if you're going to pester Hugh Laurie about slash on national television, shouldn't that be a requirement? Kids these days, I dunno.

I think he handled it as gracefully as he could; he was like: "Well, there are so many ways and situations where two people can develop an attraction to each other, so sure, I think it could be interesting" or words to that effect.

And yes, the Inside the Actor's Studio moment was pretty embarrassing (some people really need better meds), but you know, I've actually heard Hugh Laurie bring up the idea of House and Wilson as an item totally un-prompted in other interviews, so I felt less eye-rolly than I usually do in similar circumstances.

That's actually not what it says. It says membership is by invitation only.

I hope the person I pass the community on to will have more free time to search the fandom for people to invite.

the page after i tried joining it said that i had to contact you or the other person to be able to join (aka you have to invite me) but i went to both of your journals, and your journals said that you were leaving the community :(

Okay, now I understand. That's just the default error page that LiveJournal gives you when you try to join a closed community. I didn't write it and can't change it. But if you look at the community info (which I did write), it says that the community is invitational.

I always had a very hard time getting that message across, and now I wonder if it was partly because people were seeing that error page. That's too bad, I wish it could be changed.

Yeah, Inside the Actors Studio...she had that perfect blend of apologetic and defensive that seems to apply to everyone who talks about fanfic with non-fanficcy people. I thought Hugh handled it well though.
