Nano total: 12927. Lead increases a little each day. I have never written this much of one thing before. And in such a short time -- forget about it.

I can't compose on the computer because I can't stop editing, so I have to write longhand and then type it in. I can type extremely fast (Mavis Beacon haaaaaaay), so sitting and staring at a notebook and typing for 15 minutes straight without having to pause and think of what to say can become a bit tiring on the wrists.

The same thing happened when I was doing the HP chapter discussions, because I didn't trust the OCR scans of the books so I actually typed all the citations myself.

...you can listen to HMS Pinafore and write? I'm impressed - I would be far too distracted!

I can listen to G&S because I'm so familiar with it that I can let it fade into the background and not be distracting. Though if I'm working on something that requires particular concentration I may have to turn it off.

By comparison, the longest story I've ever finished was 6800 words.
