international feedback day
Oct. 4th, 2003 09:55 am"INTERNATIONAL FEEDBACK DAY! On Sunday 5 October. Where we all make a point of going through our fic folders and actually sending out emails to all those authors who've written amazing fic that we've never sent the love to. Either because we think they already get loads of feedback or we never got round to it or we're worried about what we should write."
This is a great idea. I have a big file of fic that needs feedback.
I see that this notice doesn't mention people you haven't sent feedback to because, although they're brilliant writers, they're also very hostile and you're afraid your well-intentioned praise will for some reason incur a smackdown. But I guess I'll grow a pair and send feedback to them too.
(It occurs to me that now anyone reading this who gets feedback from me on Sunday may wonder if I've been holding out on them because I think they've got a stick up their butt. Heh.)
EDIT: One of my co-workers just told me a joke.
A pirate walks into a bar, and he has a steering wheel down his pants. The bartender says, "Hey, do you know you have a steering wheel in your pants?"
The pirate says, "Yaaaarr, matey! It's drivin' me nuts!"
