[livejournal.com profile] caesia390 has written a fifth story in the multi-author series begun by [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1's "And Just Plain Wrong".

[livejournal.com profile] caesia390's "To The Victors" (NC-17) takes Draco's POV, and -- god strike me down if I'm lying -- makes him sympathetic. JPW-verse Draco is one of the nastiest, most unredeemable characters in the fandom (two words: Hagrid scene), and Caesia never shies away from that, but somehow manages to make us feel for him anyway, in all his madness and despair. The story kept saying things about this universe that were making me think, "Yes, this is right, this is true, this is *exactly* what these stories are about." I'm in awe.

For those of you just tuning in, here's a breakdown of the stories in this series, numbered by the order in which they were written, and charted out chronologically/thematically. Though "At the Beginning" was written third, I think it works best as an ending to the series. I see "Cut With Diamonds" and "To The Victors" as telling comparable parts of the story even though I don't think they take place at quite the same time -- let me know if I'm off, Caesia.

A word of warning: This series involves a great deal of graphic rape, torture, and death. I'm not kidding around. Read with caution.

I read just Caesia's story first, and was shocked to the core of my ultimately innocent heart. It was that powerful of a story.

...I'm thinking I won't be reading the entire series, becuse I'm amazingly wimpy like that. But I just want you to know that I think your "Cut with Diamonds" was a wonderful story, and thank God, implied more than it showed. (Since I'm chickenshit and really can't deal when its shown.) So... good job. And thanks for not making me cry, like Caesia did.

Will you be writing any more for this series?

Caesia is consistently capable of rendering me speechless. I read her stuff, and all I can get out is jlkwnrcdkbjvdkaaaaughsogood!! or similar.

I don't think being unable to get through the first two stories makes a person wimpy -- they squicked me real bad, and that's hard to do. But I'd recommend you at least read "At the Beginning", which is much softer, only an R rating.

Heh, thank you.

I certainly wasn't expecting to. I did write some post-Cut With Diamonds Ron/Lavender yesterday, but that may not come to anything. It would be great to see even more writers take on this universe, though.

I was here when AJPW was written, I saw the fawning over it and its massive popularity, but I didn't know of so many sequels to it. (Thanks!) I still haven't read it, because I am seriously disturbed by rape and torture, and when Amanuensis warns for rape and torture, she's not kidding around.

You got that straight!

awww, thanks for the praise! yeah, i see 'to the victors' as taking place around the middle of 'damage control' then skipping to just before 'at the beginning,' but it's... flexible. Notice my complete inability to pin down time and place in a fic. ~_~ Ahh, Pauraque, what I wouldn't give for your gift with details, sometimes. :} But I guess I'll just have to stick with visceral PoV.

I think there's some talk going down about making a website for the JPW-verse, to get all the fics and discussion together...

That would be cool. We should get somebody with mad art/layout skillz to do it for us.

Thanks for putting these in order. I've read them all but out of sync so I shall read in this order, see how they work together. They're all quite daunting because of the content but it's powerful writing, not smutty or just for the hell of it. I was quite taken aback by 'Cut with Diamonds', not sure how to take it at first. It requires at least two readings to really get into it. You've said it was quite draining to write but it has a similar effect on the reader - bits of it kept coming back to me long after I read it first; it's very haunting that way.

This is a big compliment to me, because my very favorite stories have the same effect on me -- the images and characters get under my skin. It was that way with [livejournal.com profile] weatherby's "Contrition" and [livejournal.com profile] luciusmalfoy's "Gorge".

Yay! This table looks awesome! I feel so happy that my fic is a part of this project! It's so exciting and, I think, very unique - because the stories are written by different people and from different points of view - and there is much more said about characters than one author could ever say.

I think all the stories (apart from mine, that is :-)) are just great! The series really need a special site as Ara said :-) But so far I'd at least like to have the stories on my site as well :-)

It really is an interesting phenomenon, the way we're all borrowing ideas from each other and spinning them out into new stories and points of view. But I suppose for fanfic writers it's only natural!
