Date: 2015-05-09 01:26 pm (UTC)Sometimes when writing there can be a bit of distance between what you're feeling as a writer and what you intend the reader to feel. Not that it's manipulation, but just that you already know what you're going to write so there's no suspense or sudden realizations like there are when you're reading something. But for some reason, when I was writing that particular fic, I got very emotional and felt no detachment at all. So people's response to it seemed like I was directly sharing my own feelings rather than "making" people feel something that I didn't also feel, if that makes sense. I guess that's why it seemed like the right answer to
