My wav>mp3 converter broke halfway through this, so I didn't get everything done I wanted to. Oh well. These are a tad quiet, but the sound quality is good.

[EDIT: Haha, I didn't even say what these are... It's me playing the piano.]

Erik Satie's Nocturne No.3
Just the first little bit.

Erik Satie's Gnossienne No.3
[livejournal.com profile] keladryb, this is the sheet music I bummed from you.

Maurice Ravel's Forlane from Le tombeau de Couperin
About the first three quarters of it. Sources say that Ravel had difficulty playing his own compositions. They're, uh... tricky. But oh, my love for this piece.

Radiohead+Drugstore's El President
I think I did this one in a phone post at some point.

"The Wrong Story", read by Teh Auteur Himself
Yipes, do I really sound that young? As a point of interest, I always read my fic out loud for editing purposes. And yes, I do the voices; [livejournal.com profile] _hannelore just happened to pick a story with no dialogue. *g* Anyway, the text of the ficlet is here.

Due to Moulin Rogue, I cannot think of Satie without thinking of Toulousse-Lautrec in drag and narcoleptic Argentinians falling through one's ceiling.

DAMN YOU BAZ LUHRMAN!

I'm sure that would have been quite sensical if I had seen that movie, but alas, I did not.

Oh, sorry.

Baz Luhrman had the real people of Tolousse-Lautrec and Satie as well as his pretend people of the Narcoleptic Argentinian and the Doctor acting as a gang of artistes calling themselves 'The Children of the Revolution.' Moulin Rogue is a weird movie.

Huh, you do sound younger than I imagined.

I always feel somewhat..voyeuristic listening to recordings of other people.

Aww! These sound so pretty! I'm hopelessly jealous! (I can barely plunk out 'Für Elise'; once it gets to that descending scale part towards the middle I give up.)

I think we may have had this discussion before, but have you ever had the chance to play anything by Fauré? I mostly just know his violin sonatas, but he wrote a beautiful Pavane and a very pretty Requiem that have frequently been transcribed for piano.

Once again, very pretty!

I have the sheet music for that Pavane around here somewhere, I think... I'll try to dig it out.

Not on topic, but thought you might like to know: the Harry Potter thread over at the ZBB has been revived with a future instalments predictions/bets debate (http://www.spinnoff.com/zbb/viewtopic.php?t=892&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=150).

Definitely interesting to see non-fandomers coming to some of the same conclusions as fandomers. And I like that Peter's importance and dangerousness is taken as a given, which it often isn't in fandom!

Very cool to hear you play and read, Eo. A nice little gift to begin my day.

Wow.

Like, WOW.

As an obsessive piano player, I can tell you that these are rather nice, to say the least. Loooooove the second one. =D

Thanks! That second one is sort of a stumper for me at times, because I'm not sure what the directions mean. "As though descending into a pit." Er... okay, Erik, whatever you say...
