smut, plus snake-wrangling. er.

The first round of the
pornish_pixies Fantasy Fest is complete! So much smut! Despite my angst over getting my entries done, I needed something like this, this month.
I don't think I'll ever forget sitting on
keladryb's couch in Tahoe, middle of the night-- her sitting cross-legged with the laptop checking her friends-list, me roughing out the first draft of 'Pale Fever' and giggling at my own wickedness-- not just that, but laughing at the joy of writing, creation, where we were... I was happy, and I knew it. Acknowledged it.
Anyway, I put in a second fest entry at the last minute, illustrating 'Pale Fever'. I don't think I've ever drawn sex before.
'Ragdoll'. R, Peter/Remus. Not work-safe.
Also, do you guys realize that
amanuensis1 wrote fourteen stories for the fest? I haven't even been able to keep up with reading them.
And heyyyyy, lookie. Round Two!
I had to go with my brother to his school to get his pictures taken and his schedule picked-up. They seemed determined to make this process as incomprehensible and tedious as humanly possible. There was no indication of which of the monstrous lines to stand in when, so I had to go around tapping obnoxious high school students on the shoulder and asking them what was going on.
But anyway, that got taken care of. Yet, there was more drama to come. Soon after we got back, my brother came downstairs and announced that he'd found my snake lodged behind his bookshelf, rather than in her terrarium where she should be. (I don't have a picture, but she looks very much like the snake in the second photo on this page.)
The bookshelf was heavily loaded, and I couldn't move it away from the wall. There was no room for me to get my hand in there to reach her. I sat there staring at her smug little poking-out face for quite some time.
In the end, I had to lure her out with food. Of course, being a snake, she eats dead things. So I spent several minutes crouching on the floor and waving a frozen mouse about, while intermittently having to fend off the cat, who was very interested in the proceedings.
When you grab a snake who is halfway inside a dark space that you can't reach into, you're not supposed to yank them out right away; it hurts them. You just hold on and let them struggle until they give up. My snake is very stubborn, and under the impression that she just might be stronger than me -- I don't think she actually ever gave up, but tired herself out trying to work her way back behind the bookshelf. She's only about three feet long, but snakes are really strong, pound-for-pound... it was impressive, feeling that power as her muscles worked against me. Then annoying, as it began to hurt my arm.
But anyway, the snake is now put right, and her terrarium locked. I'd just moved it, and must have left it unlatched.
