Oh, for heaven's sake. My extra userpics expired a couple weeks back, and I decided there were better things to spend my money on than having more little pictures, so I made the heartbreaking cuts required to get down to only 15 icons. Then, of course, paid users get more userpics again, and now I'm back up to 42 slots. My sacrifice is meaningless!

Puh. Is it my imagination, or is there not a lot of good fic being written lately? Like, I'll click on recs or newsletter links, and whatever it is is readable, but it starts off with exposition, or it uses a bunch of silly epithets, or the author just doesn't seem to have read any fic about these characters before. Yeah, I know new people come to fandom all the time, but that's not a good excuse for writing the characters in a facile, obvious way.

Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Guys, rec me some awesome fic! I'm on way too long a streak of inviting only artists to pornish_pixies. :P

No, you are not wrong, fandom seems to be wilting. The people i friended when I first joined are hardly writing any more, and most of my flist is het based now - and how did that happen?

I notice that you don't have hp_literotica friended. Ok, I'm biased, but I do think that there are some great writers there. R maximum rating, but wonderful characterisation.

Why, thank you! I spent the day trekking over the snow-covered mountains (and sometimes roads) to Eugene. Am waiting for Annie to fly into the airport here later this evening.

I'd worry about how old I'm getting, but after a few years of that, it gets tiring. More productive to look ahead. :-)
