I am signing up for both, because I am a lunatic. (Actually not too much of one, since rarewomen isn't due until the end of April, which I'm sure will seem like plenty of time. *cough*)

Seriously, it's great to see you having fun with fic and fests again. :) I really wanted to sign up for hp_beholder this year, but my stupid achy hands keep sabotaging me. I've already had to beg an extended extension for wizard_love, so I'll no doubt be writing well into February, which makes the hp_beholder deadline of March 30 probably a bit tight for me. It's a great fest, though.

I asked for an extension for wizard_love too. But I don't feel too bad since the beginning of it overlapped with the Yuletide writing period, so I had less time to start with.

Have you ever tried voice recognition software to give your hands a break? They're starting to get that going for the special ed department at my kid's school, and he's been using it because he has issues with strength and coordination in his hands.

Yeah, I did look into voice recognition software when the tendonitis issues got worse again some weeks ago. I've dragged my feet a bit because I'm sure it will feel weird in the beginning — there's the fact of my annoying Scandinavian accent, which I don't have to hear when I just type! And I won't be able to dictate when others are in the house (too shy/private about my writing and my fannishness by far, even apart from the interesting challenge of dictating smut out loud). But I think giving my hands a break is the only thing that's going to make a real difference, so I've decided to try MacSpeech Scribe, which is supposed to be good and isn't terribly expensive. I have to wait and take it on next month's budget, but I hope I'll be able to spring for it in February.

I was thinking about that too. :o I'm sure it would take some getting used to. But then, the same is true of writing smut in general.
