Thanks to everyone who commented on my earlier post. hannelore's surgery went well but took longer than expected, so we just now got home (9pm our time). Despite having to drive at night, I didn't crash the car!

She's all right, currently curled up watching TV. Fortunately she has a tougher constitution than me when it comes to anesthesia -- I get bad nausea every time.
