hp_halloween roundup

All right, time for
hp_halloween, before I get too ridiculously late with it. First off,
kellychambliss and I wrote for each other, and boy was I nervous. I respect her writing a hell of a lot and I think I know her tastes fairly well, so I really wanted to get it right. I hope I did.
The Margin (G, Minerva & all the Heads of House) by me
After the children are asleep, the Heads of House have their own Samhain ritual.
And then her drabble for me! Oh man.
Chromatic (G, The Grey Lady & Luna) by
kellychambliss
Every year, the Grey Lady waits for Samhain.
I can't even say how happy this made me. I've been throwing prompts about Luna and the Grey Lady into different fests for years, and in 200 words she managed to make it everything I wanted, and more complete and satisfying than some stories that are ten times the wordcount.
As usual, there were many excellent entries. Here are a few others that particularly stood out to me:
Absence (G, Tom Riddle, the Founders) by
hikarievandar
The Founders sealed the wards with their deaths, but one of them is missing. Tom finds Hogwarts’ weakness.
So lushly detailed and intriguing, you forget it's 200 words.
The Haunting (G, Narcissa) by
redcandle17
She could feel eyes watching her.
Many drabbles have a twist. This one is subtler than most, and hits harder for it.
Dreams of a Witches' Sabbath (PG, Bloody Baron & The Grey Lady) by
leigh_adams
The Baron dreamed of Samhain, and the witch he saw dancing around the bonfire.
I love this take on the Baron's perspective, so different from what the living see.
An Autumn Morning (PG-13, Severus/Remus) by
writcraft
Severus and Remus wake up together on a foggy Autumn morning.
Stunningly beautiful writing.
white as death, fresh as snow (R, Narcissa/Pansy) by
lumosed_quill
Narcissa visits her husband's grave on Samhain... with her new lover.
Sensual and bittersweet.
Dearly Beloved (G, Neville & Augusta) by
hannelore
Neville's Gran has always been a part of his life. Now that he's a Hogwarts professor, she couldn't be more proud. She's still a part of his life, but it's become a problem.
Oh Neville. ♥
Draco's Honor (PG-13, Harry/Draco)
Lucius is poised to defend Draco's honor.
This made me giggle in a very undignified way.
